Conference to mark the 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The growth of illiberalism across the world represents a serious threat to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. To mark the 70th Anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights is hosting a conference to consider the ways in which three key institutions of liberal democracies, the media, civil society and universities are confronting the threat of illiberalism. Each of these institutions is facing different forms of illiberalism in different parts of the world and the panel discussions will explore not only the forms of illiberalism that they face but also the manner in which illiberalism is being confronted in different ways in different societies.
The keynote address will be given by Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton and can be viewed live on the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights Facebook page at 0930 BST.
The conference will comprise three panel discussions and all sessions will be streamed live.
