It also should be emphasised that the concepts below are mildly caricatured: concepts such as 'autocratic legalism' and 'constitutional retrogression' clearly do not focus exclusively on executives, but these are their primary focus. Similarly, concepts such as 'democratic deconsolidation' and 'constitutional rot' do not ignore executives, but their analytical scope tends to focus on the wider democratic system as a whole.
